Best of 2017: FAVORITE HOME

HANDS DOWN. WITHOUT A DOUBT THIS HOME IN HINSDALE, IL. THEY MANAGED TO KEEP THE TRADITIONAL ELEMENTS OF THE HOME WHILE ADDING IN SOME MODERN AND ARTISTIC PIECES.

I ALSO LIKE NEUTRAL COLOR PALETTES. MY BOSS ALWAYS SAYS IN DESIGN "KEEP IT SIMPLE, STUPID."

TAKE A LOOK BELOW.

FAVORITE FEATURE: THESE CHAIRS ARE BEYOND AMAZING! SAW SOMETHING SIMILIAR IN BERLIN. I LIKE TO CALL THEM PUFFER CHAIRS.

DINING ROOM

SUBTLE HUES OF GREEN VELVET MIXED WITH GOLD ACCENTS GO WELL WITH THE WHITE BACKDROP OF THE DINING ROOM. WHEN LOOKING TO ELEVATE A SPACE, LOOK FOR DIFFERENT TEXTURES AND COMPLEMENTARY COLORS IN THE COLOR PALLETTE. SOMETIMES TEXTURES CAN DO MUCH MORE FOR A SPACE THAN JUST A VARIETY OF DIFFERENT COLORS.

It’s like she’s with me every time I walk through our main foyer, and the first time I saw it, I was so incredibly touched,” she said. For the requisite pop of color, dining chairs by Roche Bobois are upholstered in emerald green velvet and evoke the sex appeal of a smoky, late-night lounge.

BEDROOM

Contrast and texture plus a little cheeky humor reign in the guest bedroom. A smooth, black channel-quilted leather headboard anchors the bed where it bristles with lines of sequins from a Moroccan wedding blanket. For an original vanity table, the Grimeses purchased a custom design created by PROjECT Interiors from a vintage door. It was donated to a social service agency’s auction that benefits the homeless and marginalized in Chicago.
